Primary 5-7 have finished some of their shields of Ancient Greece.
Here's how they got on....!
Shields by Murray and Angus
Primary 5-7 are finding out about Ancient Greece, in particular looking at the story of Troy and how Paris and Helen started the war.
We have looked at weapons, armour and type of warfare, and the fact that most soldiers in ancient Greece had regular jobs and were called up to fight, so wars had to be short. The battle of Troy however lasted ten years.
We will be involved in a variety of work over the coming weeks and here you can see the class making shields used in ancient Greece, using collage.

Primary 5-7 enjoyed another team building activity this week. Each team was given a European flag and had to identify the country. They had to find up to ten facts to share with everyone, and had only 15 minutes to complete the activity.
Teams worked well together and were successful in identifying the countries. Each member shared the information they had found, with the whole group, and points were awarded for interesting facts.

Primary 5/6/7 have kicked off the new session with a team building activity.
Team building will be a part of our weekly programme to encourage collaborative working and social skills.
Today's activity was where each team had to build a tower as high as possible, using only straws and pipe cleaners in ten minutes. After ten minutes we measured the height of towers built and discussed how the team decided what to build and any problems they encountered.
We then continued for another ten minutes to see if progress could be improved. Some groups did very well, while others have identified things they can try to avoid or work on for next time.
See how we did......!
This afternoon, Lee visited our class from The Scottish Society Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. She talked to us about what to do if you come across an injured or abandoned animal. She then showed us lots of equipment and we got to dress up in the equipment. Look at the photo of us with Lee.
