Five Primary 6/7 pupils from Ednam Primary School visited Prague in the Czech Republic last week.

The visit was part of our Comenius Project with ten schools across Europe, and the pupils visited the Czech school as part of our planning activities.

During the visit Reagan, Connor, Abbie, Amelie and Isaac worked with pupils in our partner school, where they were involved in question and answer sessions, sporting activities as well as teaching Scottish dance and songs.

Primary 6/7 also had the opportunity to have a traditional meal with a Czech family, visit Prague Zoo, and get to know about the history of Prague during tours of the city.

They also met the Mayoress of Prague and ended with a cruise on the river Vitava on the final evening, where a ten minute fireworks display brought their week to an end.

A memorable time was had by all.

Teachers from our ten project schools met in Anagni, Italy at the end of March 2014, for our second meeting in our Space Teds’ Adventures project.

There were new members to meet as well as colleagues who went to the first meeting in Scotland. There were also two pupils from Turkey on this visit.

When European teachers were here in Scotland last October, they worked ith our pupils teaching them traditional songs and dances from their countries.  During the visit to Italy, Mrs Galloway and I introduced a class to the ‘Gay Gordons’ and the song ‘Everywhere We Go’ with an Italian twist.

Have a look at how they got on, at the Comenius 10 website, it’s great!
