On the last day on term before the Easter holidays, Primary 3-7 pupils performed with Charades Theatre Company, in a Musical version of Burke and Hare.

Burke and Hare were two men who murdered people, to sell their bodies for medical science, in 1828. Burke was hanged in 1829 after Hare turned King’s evidence to gain his freedom. ¬†The performance was choreographed by James, Rob and Moira of Charades Theatre Company, and included James and Rob as the villains.

Parents and friends turned out in the village hall to see the spectacle, which was well received.  Well done to everyone, and a clip from the final song can be seen below.

We had a welcome assembly for our guests where our pupils sang Scottish songs and there was a demonstration of Scottish dancing from two Primary 7 girls.

Classes also demonstrated the songs and dances they learned with our visitors, and they all did very well given they had only had a little practice.  Thanks go to our guests who worked extremely well with our pupils who have all enjoyed and benefitted from the experience.

Here you can see the Primary 3/4 practicing their Czech Republic song and dance with Nada Hrebikova, Martina Koresova, Renata Hruba and Sarka Oplova.
